Egg Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bread
  • 1 pound Sausage (Jones) w/gr pepper & onion) can use Turkey sausage if you prefer over Pork
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Salt & pepper
  • Mushrooms optional

Instructions

  1. *In a 9x13 greased baking pan, tear up 4 slices of bread with the crusts
  2. *Brown the sausage and drain off grease
  3. *Spoon over the bread
  4. *Sprinkle the 2 cups of shredded cheese on top
  5. At this point you can refrigerate and finish preparing in morning, if desired
  6. *Beat 6 eggs with the milk, dry mustard and salt and pepper
  7. *Pour over sausage and cheese
  8. *Bake at 350 for 45 to 60 minutes
  9. Note: If you are adding mushrooms, brown them in your skillet after browning the sausage
